The A2K NFL Fantasy Football League Is Back For 2011-2012!

The NFL players and owners have settled their little spat about how to divide the zillion$ and the season is set to kick off on September 9th. Sports is not a big topic on A2K, but we muster enough people each year to put together a fantasy league. We draft NFL players to be on our teams and we get matched up with others in the league each week.
We have been doing this for the past few years. We use Yahoo to keep the stats. It is free and spam-free.
We can handle about 12-14 players here, max. After that, the talent pool of quality NFL players drops off.
Our winner last year was the Rappin' Rednecks out of the mountains of Virginia. I know for a fact that he is one of the dumbest people regarding football on A2K. He will be back to defend his cockeyed crown.

The league commissioner or I will give you details.

Anyway, we have 7 players indicating they will be in. 3 of them are snooty Bostonians while 2 others live in single wide trailers in the south with hound dogs tied to the axles of trucks on cinder blocks in knee high grass. Tico, despite his avatar, lives in some godforsaken place in the middle of nowhere where the tumbleweeds are bigger than he is. McGentrix? I know that he is a drifter of little consequence.
I hope I haven't offended anyone.

I got a message from Rhys offering to be the commissioner again this year. Cool. You will recall that you can let Yahoo select your team for you; you can list your preferences in advance; or you can participate in a live draft. Rhys asked for guidance.
We have typically done the draft, for no particular reason, on a Saturday around 6PM (ET). We will never find a date and time suitable for everyone. I am thinking somewhere between Saturday, August 20th and Sunday, August 28th in the early evening time (ET).
This will give me time to troll for new players and for those folks to do some research if they are so inclined.

The Rappin' Rednecks are in, with a gentle reminder that I WON LAST YEAR! I AM THE DEFENDING CHAMPION!
We have 5 teams in so far. Rhys set the cap at 10 with the live draft set for Saturday, August 13th at 9:30 pm (ET). We must end up with an even number of teams in order for the weekly match ups to work.
I will begin trolling in earnest from amongst veteran players this weekend but we certainly welcome people who have never played here before. You don't even need to be on A2K. We had a couple of friends of A2Kers participate.
We do ask that, before joining, players appreciate that there is a time commitment of around 10 minutes or so each week of the 17 game season. The fun is lessened if a player disappears mid season.

I don't like to second guess commish's, Tico. My job is to pimp for players. Last year, we had 14 people playing.
I appreciate that if the league gets large, we run low on quality football players at some positions to draft.
If the league is 10 vs 12 vs 14, I could see my draft strategy changing. So I am hoping to get to 10 quickly and then decide to expand it or not.
