Hi everybody!
Does anybody speak / learn / is interested in constructed languages or in constructed languages theory? I'd like to learn more about it and hear about your experiences...
Bye,

Hi Helen, welcome to a2k.
There have been a couple of threads here about Esperanto and Mondlango.
My take on constructed languages is that they are good for linguists, but will hardly become a lingua franca, because of their lack of a society to hold them and enrich them. As a construction, they tend to be mechanical, not warm enough.
What popular sayings can come out of a constructed language? What warm cheering phrases? What angry, dirty words/phrases?
I'm interested in constructed languages, and I don't think they neccessarily lack culture. Constructed languages made for the real world can't superimpose that kind of thing, but languages invented for fantasy worlds and so forth can. I've learned Quenya (from LOTR) and I've experimented a little with making a language of my own.
If you are interested in them go
