......and that something is me !!! (bet the title got yr attention pretty quickly eh ??)

It has been decided that I will be crossing the pond (though thankfully not in a boat) on the 4th of Feb - I have work in NY till the 8th and after that I am planning to take a week off and ..... well....can't decide Smile

So, any A2K meets happening arnd that time ? Btw, how does one get from NY to Boston and NY to Seattle ?

As always, my plans are not 100% - though this time, surprisingly they are abt 80% - will know more once the tickets are booked.

So I hope that the red carpet will be taken out from storage and sent to the dry cleaners soon !!!!

Gautam- don't forget to take your snow boots, and heavy coat. It can get pretty brisk in N.Y. and Boston in February.

New York to Boston isn't much of a problem. They are only a few hours away, even by car, and there are many commuter flights, and even trains, between the two cities. Seattle is on the other side of the country.

whohoo! How cool! One would fly between the east and west coasts (it's about 3300 miles).

Phoenix is right about Boston-NYC. It's about 4.5 hours by car, buses and trains make the trip many times a day. There's that china-town express too, it's the cheapest rate, but you never quite know where you'll end up. Flights between the two cities are also frequent and well-used.

How exciting! There aren't any gatherings planned.....YET!

I think we need a meet in the New York/New Jersey area.

I can certainly get into the city with no trouble.

I'll start a thread asking if anybody wants to get together for dinner and/or a drink one evening during the early part of Febrary.

Last time I tried, there were not many takers -- but hope spring eternal.

I'll put a link in this thread after I start it.

On a weekend, I would make anything between Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Denver, Colorado. That's not close enough to the urban beat, is it?

Hey! Good thing I happened upon this... y'know, you could fly to NY, then fly to Seattle, and fly back to London via Seattle instead of flying back to NY first. The flight is not that much longer because it goes way north (check globe) and we have a non-stop every day on British Air.

Weeee Hoooooo! <hugging self in anticipation>

Littlek, heeeheee. You mean, because I know the Bristish Air schedule? There is only the one flight over and back and it hasn't changed in years. They're so staid and stable, those Brits.

Actually there is a word for it...BORING !! Laughing

Not sure if I can fly down to the west coast in the limited amount of time I have + the entire family is going to be there so will be sort of restricted in my movements - but as I said, plans not finalized as yet.

But Boston and Chicago look like a distinct possibility - now if only I can find a good looking man to spend the night with - have been waiting to tick "Boston Brahmin" column of my people chart for quite some time Twisted Evil
