Does that entail shunting aside all the bad things, Bear? What if these were your children?

@blueveinedthrobber,
I agree that what I asked doesn't follow from what you said but as an aside; what if these were your children? What if Mexico or Brazil or Canada illegally invaded the USA and did this to your grandchildren?

@anonymously99,
Why do you make the unwarranted assumption that it is anger, A?

@anonymously99,
How about this one.

How do you feel now that you know the USA is not a force for good, that it is now and has always been a force of evil? That it has raped and pillaged virtually every poor country in the world and in the process slaughtered millions, stole the very bread out of starving people, acted in the most amoral manner possible and covered it all up with a massive program of lies.

How do you feel?

@JTT,
I don't want to think about it. Because I don't know. whether you're wrong or not. I don't care to know.

There is no reason why it should. Why read links which I already know the content of? I wouldn't visit the USA for good wages. As far as I can tell it is everything you say it is.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
― Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad/Roughing It

@edgarblythe,
The two quotes from Twain and Hecht are both prejudiced and serve only as self-glorification. They are also unsupported assertions.

Twain traveled on his wife's money and, like most travelers, couldn't get enough of boasting about its benefits which are non-existent.
