Where y'at?

This your ol buddy Coin-Toss comin atcha from the Crescent City. I been
cogitatin, agitatin and prognosticatin. Then I said "yeah you right" and
jus been flippin the coin. So here we go.

I pick heads for homes and tails for the visits. Mon cher ami and pirogue
paddler he'ps me on account I ain't got no thumbs.

H-T-H-T
T-H-H-T
T-T-T-T
T-T-T-T

Woo-wee. That be some strang o Ts.

So we match it up wit the list provided by that fine Virginyin gemmun,
JohnBoy. Look like this.

Atlanta Falcons -- don't much like them Lanta folks. They think they
the Queen City of the South. They ain't, but they got a pretty good team.

Dallas Cowboys -- the Boys have them a chance to win the East

St. Louis Rams -- We got us a Cathedral of St. Louis here in the French
Quarter. Them Rams needs all the intercession they can get.

Miami Dolphins -- that Rockhead, he gonna like this I guarontee.

Tennessee Titans -- I look at Archie's boy on the sidelines and it bout
breaks ma heart.

New York Giants -- Damn Yankees.

Minnesota Vikings -- Hey, you think I ain't surprised too? My Saints
gonna get over-confident.

Green Bay Packers -- Now it's just annoyin.

Carolina Panthers -- Cam Newton. Thass all I gotta say.

Seattle Seahawks -- Bad times fo the Windy City.

Detroit Lions -- Suh's back. Detroit is a bad-ass town with a bad-ass
team and Suh is the baddest ass of them all.

New York Jets -- Damn Yankees.

Cleveland Browns -- Don't matter none anyway.

New England Patriots -- Wonder how they'd do if they played some
actual D?

Baltimore Ravens -- Look out for the Ballymores. They good and
gettin better.

Pittsburgh Steelers -- Never liked them. They only have a logo on
one side and they spell funny.

Gots to go. Laissez les bon temps roulez, cher.

@Coin-Toss,
Crescent City? Good grief, you are not many minutes from my last home town, Eureka. If you are there and don't go to my old gallery, I'll, y'know, kill you.

Piante. 620 2nd Street. Two blocks toward the bay and from the bay, from 101.
I can say that now on a2k, since I'm not involved in it but wish it well. Go in and tell Sue you know Ossobuco and she'll probably just stare, as we didn't call each other screen names. So, try the word Jo.

With luck she'll be glad to talk or if not, abrupt.

Ask about the turtles.

@ossobuco,
I don't think we talkin bout the same crescent. I'm talkin bout where the
Mississippi makes a big ol bend. The nickname of the city there is the
Crescent City. Some folks call it the Big Easy. On the maps, it's New Orleans.

WEEK #14 RESULTS:
EhBeth claims week #14 based on being 1 point closer than Ragman to the Seahawks' final score of 30. They each finished the week at 14-2. EhBeth also won week #6.
Seven of us did well at 13-3: CoastalRat, Cowdoc, McGentrix, Tico, Mysteryman, Jespah and Johnboy. At 12-4 were Fbaezer, AndyClubber, LiontamerX, Edgar, Region and Spendius, while Mis Cowdoc, Wandeljw, JPB, Rhys and Osso came in at 11-5. George stumbled in at 10-6.
The best ESPN expert was 13-3 while the worst was 11-5. CoinToss/CoinToss ended up or down at 9-7.
It was our best week of the season. As a group we were correct on just over 76% of our picks (256-80). We got hurt by Miami losing to Philadelphia and San Francisco falling to Arizona.

STANDINGS AFTER WEEK #14:
The race for 3rd through, say, those in the mid-teens is really close-
1) JohnBoy (148-60 .712) holds onto the lead but
2) Ragman (142-66 .683) gains a game from being behind 7 wins
3) Wandeljw (138-70 .663) holds 3rd but falls back from 1 game vs Ragman
4) Fbaezer (129-66 .662) rises from 6th
5) Spendius (137-71 .659) climbs from 7th
5) Region matches that
5) Tico sticks in 5th
5) George dips from a share of 3rd
9) Cowdoc (136-72 .654) advances from 10th
9) CoastalRat does the same
9) LiontamerX is still where he was
12) EhBeth (134-74 .644) moves up from 14th
13) Osso (133-75 .630) slips from 12th
14) McGentrix (132-76 .635) creeps up from 15th
14) JPB gives up a notch from 13th
16) Mysteryman (129-79 .620) inches up from 17th switching spots with
17) Mis Cowdoc (128-80 .615)
18) Edgar (127-81 .611) is stuck in 18th again, as is
18) AndyClubber
20) Rhys (125-83 .601) remains where he was
21) Jespah (109-99 .524) has a decent week for a change.

The best ESPN expert (140-68 .673) would move down 1 place from 3rd.
The worst one (128-80 .615) would be way down there in the tie for 17th with Mis C.
CoinToss/CoinToss is ahead of only Jespah but seems quite confident about the prospects for Week #15.
3 Weeks left = 48 picks for each of us. There is time left to gain in the standings.

WEEK #15
Restaurant picks based on sheer ignorance or, you could call it hunch - not chosen to be typical. I generally like going to restaurants, unless they are completely vile, and part of liking them is pointing a finger and saying, this one.

Atlanta Miller Union
Dallas Bambu - north Dallas
Cincinnati Jean Paul's Paradiso
Buffalo Schwabl's
Tennessee Watermark Restaurant in Nashville
NYGiants Babbo (I just know it's been waiting for me to show up)
New Orleans Cochon Butcher
Green Bay St.Brendan's Inn
Houston Chatkhara Grill
Chicago South Water Kitchen, sentiment
Detroit Louisiana Creole Gumbo
NYJ Torrisi Italian Specialties
Arizona Pizzeria Bianco
New England Essex Seafood, for sentimental reasons (we only went to some kind of clam shack in Essex)
Baltimore Pratt Street Ale House
San Francisco (please shape up!) - 21-17 Green's, sentiment

So, it'll be a bunch of work if I change my mind on a game..
