@ossobuco,
This isn't rethinking my choices - just playing around.

I'm sure we are all happy for you osso, having such fun and all.

I sure hope it doesn't catch on. Somebody might think of doing the low-class massage parlours in the city with which the NFL franchises are loosely associated. Or the Town Hall clockfaces. It's a bit of a cop-out doing dignity. It insists upon your submission to authority.

I bet you didn't know that.

I have noticed that ladies cannot resist that sort of interjection in conversations. And not a few men. No matter what the subject is, if a reference to somewhere they have been comes up, often only a tangential one, they immediately inform the company that they have been there. One lady I met even told us that she hadn't been to Perth when we were discussing a cricket match in that city.

Never watch scenes of rioters being mown down in the streets in Damascus with somebody who once had an overnight stop there on a tour of the region in aid of seeing the world. And if the hotel where they stayed is shown full of holes and flames coming out of the window frames they invariably start acting as if they deserve to be knighted.

Are you joining the fray next season ci.? Don't Look Back the Man said. Evolution placed our eyes at the front because looking ahead was selected in by adaptation. That looking back causes a stiff neck is evolution's way of discouraging it.

Spendi, there is no time like the present to finally get around to posting an image for your avatar. May I suggest this one:

@ehBeth,
That Dallas oil company building was awesome but my favorite is that Museum of Art in Denver. I was stationed there when I was in USAF in Denver in 1971. Nothing there then looked quite that modern. What a great addition to that city.

@Ticomaya,
Not bad Tico. Keep a clean head and always carry a lightbulb and especially when it's misty and there are highwaymen everywhere who hit you from behind.

I could do one for you but I don't do images. How about the judge in the Conrad Murray trial. Or the guy who clapped the cuffs on him when he was refused bail. Or Captain Kirk although that is an image to a certain extent. It depends how you watch Star Trek.

Or a frog sat on a stone. Do you see why words are better? Everybody can have their own image of a frog sat on a stone but a picture of one fixes the image although I must admit the imagination can still play with where the frog hopped off to next.

I could be looking for a Girl Guide who is lost in the fog enveloping my estate after losing her way home from Evensong and whose plaintive cries I had heard in the odd silences in the chatter of the ladies I was entertaining. I had shushed them. And heard the plaintive whimpering. At the time I was caught in the light of my publicist's photographer's flash gun I was trying to look in a garden shed with a low door which explains my stooped posture and expression of ambiguous anticipation.

@Region Philbis,
Do you really think, RG, that I would have a purple sofa? Or consume alcohol at home? The whole point of pubs is that they are not home. Alcohol is poisonous. What would be the point of risking being poisoned at home when you are already at home?

Those guys who take their wives to pubs make me laugh.

I've had an avatar in mind for years. If I knew how to put it on I might have done so. It's a picture of the mouth-spray-paint hand shadow on a cave wall which those fabulous artists of long ago often signed their work with.

Change the second "plaintive" to "gut-wrenching".

Do you really want to know how to do this? (It's not at all difficult; a luddite could do it.)
