Elvis Presley was born. He keeps coming back like a song, does he not?

Never cared for his music, personally, but I did appreciate how he was able to change the face of music. One of his musical creations that I did like was "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You"

Wise men say - Only fools rush in,
But I can't help falling in love with you. (REPEAT)

Shall I stay - Would it be a sin,
If I can't help falling in love with you.

Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be

Take my hand - Take my whole life too,
For I can't help falling in love with you.

Soooooo. What do you think?

Elvis was never one of my favorites ------ still a lot of people liked him right up to the point he blew out his own candle.
Can't knock success though

Hey, farmer and oak man. Elvis kicked the bucket instead of the can. Better believe that he has carved a place in history, like him or not.

As for me, I'm sick and tired of seeing sightings. There's even a car dealer down here that's an Elvis impersonator..Wish he'd just leave the building. Mad

I like some of his music but I was never a big Elvis fan. It's hard to conceive why he is still worshiped by so many, even though he died 27 years ago.

letty, if you research your Presliana, you will recall that Elvis was sitting on the toilet when he died. Hence my "can" reference.
Now go back and read my poem and you shall be enlightened.

Hey, farmer, I got it, honey. Just making a little pun on my own that I thought you'd get. Ain't that always the way?

Elvis died in the John,
Poor thing that's what happens upon
Too much of a strain
And life's unfair game,
And improper dosing and fame.

Wasn't as good as yours, farmer.

Hey, onyx and colorbook, there are Elvis diehards right out there in left field.

Came of age watching his movies. For a ten year old, they were fun.

Hey, eoe. Your response led me to remember something called Coming of Age in Samoa. Wind blowing through the palm trees...

I have always liked Elvis. I recently bought a CD collection that covered all his early recordings from the beginning to the end of 1959. I particularly like Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Such a Night, Reconsider Baby, One Night With You, It's Now or Never, I Want You I need You I Love You, and so many more I won't bore you any further with. Sure he had faults and we are virtually perfect, but, what the hey -

Good morning, all.

eoe, I was referring to Margaret Mead's "Coming of Age in Samoa." One of the profs at UVA said her entire assumption was like wind blowin through the palm trees.(in other words, claptrap).

edgar, It's a matter of taste, I guess. One thing for certain, Elvis was really good to his Mom. Another thing that Elvis did, was to cause a social realignment in the world of youth. All of a sudden, every stereotype of the guy in leather on a motorcycle became glamorous.

Hey, Sir. I had forgotten about Kennedy. Yes, he was the youngest elected president, but Teddy Roosevelt was the youngest president of the U.S.

What are the numbers now for the jobless?

From where in the UK do you hail?
