ScienceDaily (May 21, 2011) — By cleverly linking five Wii Balance Boards, a team of Rice University undergraduates has combined the appeal of a video game with the utility of a computerized motion-tracking system that can enhance the progress of patients at Shriners Hospital for Children-Houston.

I myself do play video games on occasion but not as often as I used to. PC games are my medium of choice.

I am and was aware of the addictive nature of video gaming and that it can be an emotional crux during stressful times. I guess maturity and other vices have inoculated me from becoming addicted to video gaming as a habit.

Reasons why I am not addicted to video gaming:
~Not having enough money to invest in new games. New video games are expensive.

~The fact most new games require a greater level of PC technology make them ultimately cost prohibitive as well.

~Not being a naturally good video gamer and that most video games I would prefer to play end up being too challenging. I rather spend my time on other pursuits: reading books and watching movies.

That is what I have been doing for these years. Reading can deepen our wisdom and broaden our horison far beyond what video gaming can give us.
