The constitution instructs the role of government. Do you think government is supposed to meet our basic living needs? Nope.

So, you haven't, in fact, read the constitution, huh?

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

So, do the Tea Totalitarians and you want a return to slavery and blacks counted as 3/5ths of a man? Do you want women to be disenfranchised? Do you want only men of property to vote?

Do not forget the return of US senators being appointed by the states and not elect by the voters.

That's millions and millions of innocents and those lives weren't taken through processes that were the law of the land. They are the result of heinous war crimes, mass murder, rape, torture, ... .

If the government does not protect the powerless then it has no purpose... Democracies are defensive forms of social organization... What if the enemy is within??? Can the interests of the Patrician and the Plebian always be the same??? It is in the interest of the state, if defense, justice, unity, welfare and tranquility are goals to reconcile the interests of the rich with those of the poor, and if it has not the authority, or worse, does not have the moral character to do as it must, then it destroys the state and the people, and makes one class the slave of the other, and so weakens the whole people and destroys its collective defense...

There is plenty of protection from the government, but few protections from other citizens who are endowed by the constitution with greater right via property ownership... The government had certain democratic aspects, but it did what it could to dampen the ability of the masses to effect sudden change... The democracy that was allowed to the people was limited and made daily less democratic by the actions of the parties who existence is not provided for at all in the constitution... Has any one ever asked the parties to prove their loyalty, or to prove they were acting for the benefit of all the people??? No one elects the parties, and yet they stand between the people and their government... It was for their benefit that the number of representatives was fixed... Where once the number of representatives did not exceed one for every thirty thousand, now one represents over 600 thousand, and deistricts are divided so as to hold nearly half the people without representatiion of their choice if that choice were of the other party... This one fact is enough to skaroo the whole purpose of government in representing the needs of the people... There is no cure for it but revolution because not one of the reps will give up an ounce of personal power to see the house as a whole have complete power in the government... These parties would have no power but for the power they have taken from the people...

What about the mother's pursuit of happiness? What about the woman who knows that she can not support the child? What about the woman who recognizes there are too many humans on the planet? In the last two cases, having an abortion is acting responsibly.

There was just a celebration of the anniversary of the Freedom Rides, a series of events undertaken by liberals and leftists to guarantee basic rights and freedoms to African-Americans who were still forced to drink from dirty fountains, ride at the back of the bus and deprived of their right to vote through poll taxes.

The righties were still enforcing Jim Crow laws and the centrists were saying that it was still too soon for rights for Negroes.

Only a person that is brain dead would think a child in the womb has been born.
