@oristarA,
Not a gun fanatic. When you pull the trigger 3 -300 bursts of bullets issue out of the barrel. Wink 2 Cents

@oristarA,
Anything with a 3000-round clip is basically a belt-fed machinegun.

"Round" is a generic term for a single piece of ammunition.

talk7200 is confused. You can fire an automatic weapon either continuously or in short bursts, in this case of 3 to 300 rounds at a time.

@oristarA,
Contrex is right.

In this case round is bullet.

Clip would most likely be a belt for a machine gun as 3,000 is a lot.

Quote:
In automatic firearms, burst mode or burst fire is a firing mode enabling the shooter to fire a predetermined number of rounds, usually 2 or 3 rounds and 100+ on anti-aircraft weapons, with a single pull of the trigger. This firing mode is commonly used in submachine guns, assault rifles and carbines. Other types of firearms, such as machine pistols (e.g., the Beretta 93R) may also have a burst mode.

@talk72000,

Is a belt a clip?

I don't think it is.

A 'clip' can be literally a clip...

or else it can be a generic term for an ammo holder (where 'drum' or 'magazine' might be preferable) especially since...

HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH ORISTAR NOT PROVIDING CONTEXT

It's an imaginary "weapon" from The Fifth Element.

Not at all. Just that the ONLY thing which is going to actually ever come close to holding 3000 rounds of any sort of ammo is going to be a machinegun belt.

A "clip" was typically something which held a certain number ( 5 - 8 or so) of cartridges for a normal battle rifle, in such a way that the cartridges could be quickly transferred from the clip to the rifle. A MAGAZINE is the detachable piece of a modern military rifle or pistol which carries cartridges. Typical would be a magazine carrying 20 or 30 cartridges for an m17 or AK style weapon. Those weapons can basically be reloaded by simply detaching the empty mag and attaching a full one.
