Yeah. He borrowed the name "Chevy" from a Washington DC suburb, Chevy Chase.
At the time of the War Between the States, that location had not yet been
incorporated as a village.

(I lived for several years in Northern Virginia, and narrowly escaped arrest in Chevy Chase on more than one occasion.)
