A problem exists with this piece of revisionist history from the 'merican thunker. Foremost the blurb on the burning of the library of Alexandria being laid on the feet of the Arabs and Islam about 685AD.
Controversy persists--it could have been burned by Julius Caesar in 48BC by accident, or Theophilus in 382AD to make room for a Xtian Church, or by Caliph Omar in 640AD. The 'merican thunker conveniently forgets other possibilities. My gratitude still persists that a copy of Euclid's Elements was out on loan when the torching occurred.
Finally the author ignores that book burning is a common act among many other religions and sects.
