How can I feel easy when I talk with somebody in English?

My experience is that Americans are very tolerant of those who don't speak English well, if the person in question is making an effort to communicate, and at least some of what is being said is understandable. My advice is not to worry about it--you'll only ever become a comfortable speaker of English by making the effort, and learning from your mistakes.

I just realized something. You should open each conversation with a statement that your English is not good. If you do that, people will be more patient with you and you will "feel easy."

CORRECTIONS:
I am in China and I am a freshmen in university. Thanks for your advice; I will try it!

Avoid "run-on" sentences,
which consist of 2 complete sentences run together, as if they were only 1 sentence.

A period after "advice" will also be good, instead of the semi-colon.

FIND some knowledge that some people wish to acquire.
IF you offer them information that they eagerly desire,
then they will be grateful and listen to you attentively.

@JTT,
I strongly suggest you start another thread so Stephanie can cope with david's misinformation and faulty corrections without dealing with your nonsense.

@plainoldme,
You didn't think it necessary to start a new thread for the info you offered in your post. Is this simply another version of cut and run?

@OmSigDAVID,
The only part I saw on this page was the notion that Stephanie should avoid "run on sentences". Whart we have on these pages is more like speech.

Other than that you, surprisingly, gave some pretty fair advice. What the hell is happening to you, Sig?
