I have just finished a round of antibiotics for h. pylori found in my stomach during an endoscopy. Yesterday my dentist, who is also an m.d., told me that not only can you get it from sleeping with dogs or cats....you can pass it back and forth with your significant other...so you both should be treated. Thought I'd pass along this caveat, although I am sure I will continue sleeping with my kitties...and my husband.
@mags314772,
what you do in the privacy of your home is none of our business.
@farmerman,
thou, sir, art a smartass....I like that. "Sleeping with," was not intended in the biblical sense
@mags314772,

Does he charge you twice as much for a visit? Is it as much as your plumber charges?
@mags314772,
Here's the Mayo Clinic's take on H. Pylori bacteria infections:

And more from Wikipedia:

@Butrflynet,
good info. I gather that the connection of domestic animal to human transmission is recent
@mags314772,
That link led to this one for the Helicobacter Foundation. Looks like there is a lot of info there too:

@farmerman,
She wasn't even talking about her business, farmidiot. She was providing the rest of us with some advice from a doctor.
