The first is normal. The second is obnoxious.
One seems reasonable, sane. The other is pure madness.
One is calm. The other is manic, angry, distorted..

No, that's not why I call him a troll.

There is nothing to disagree with him about, except his forum behavior--and this same pattern of obnoxious, attention-seeking behavior has been getting him banned from other forum sites for the past 7 years.

He knows exactly what he's doing, and he turns it on and off. It's very deliberate.

You might be right . But I think as a rule of thumb we don't make the situation worse by condemning him if he is legitimate and feeding him ammo if he is not .
