@cicerone imposter,
It always has been. Angry people vote.

Angry people vote, their side wins and they get complacent because they get the government they want. But that government angers other people that vote out the government voted in by the earlier angry people. And the cycle continues...

Until people vote their minds instead of their anger, we will always have that cycle.

Madison businesses have been pretty universally supportive of the unions.

@Cycloptichorn,
Would you like to make a bet on the outcome of the recall bit?

@georgeob1,
I will be more than happy to george as long as you are willing to make partisan bets on all recalls
$1000 each for 8 Dem Senators, $1000 each for 8 GOP Senators and$1000 for the governor.

I owe you $1000 for every Dem Senator recalled and you owe me $1000 for every GOP Senator recalled as well as another $1000 for the governor.

I figure I should be about $2000 richer at the end of the recalls.

Hey, this could end up worth a few bucks if more people decide to get in on this bet. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I am thinking that any GOP Senator who fails a recall attempt will be taken care of with employment if they want it...and since the recall will not overturn the law the GOP is content to let tempers cool for a year, expecting that they can by the next election document that they made a good move.

@parados,
But the subject is the Recall of Republican Senators. There is no evident movement I'm aware of for the recall of the Democrat Senators who fled the state, and Cyclo - to whom I made the offer - has not made any assertions in that regard.

However, thank you for yet another tiresome example of your petty and irrelevant niggling. What's it like down there?

It has been widely reported that 8 Dems are in the 60 day recall attempt phase, that documents have been filed with the state. No word on how successful these drives are.

@georgeob1,
The effort to recall Democratic Senators started before any to recall GOP Senators.

"We filed on Feb. 25, and we have 60 days to collect 20,352 signatures, which is a really big task," said DeForest resident Jeff Horn. "Those are due on April 26."

Horn said he hopes his formal petition to recall Democratic state Sen. Mark Miller will change the stalemate at the state Capitol.

Inside the restaurant, a different group was meeting in the banquet hall. They were signing petitions, to force Democratic Senator Bob Wirch into a recall election. Sixty-two-year-old Patricia Salerno of Kenosha favors Walker's budget repair proposal and says she's upset by Wirch's flight from the state.

I must be pedantic to you because once again facts are on my side. Don't let your ignorance prevent you from acting like an ass. But then I'm sure you won't ever let that happen.

So were you ignorant of the recall of Dem Senators or are you just using it as an excuse to weasel out of the bet you offered because you know it is a loser for you?

@hawkeye10,
Thanks: I wasn't aware of that. It appears that Parados thinks that either one or two more Republican senators (possibly replacing one with the governor) will be recalled than Denocrat. Note that, even with the loss of two senate seats, the Republicans will still have a majority. That wouldn't amount to much of a revenge victory for the Democrats.

They do squirm and protest a lot in defeat don't they ?

@georgeob1,
My $2000 prediction was based on my minimum win. What I figure is pretty much guaranteed.

It could easily be $4-5000 but I wasn't going to predict that. So.. going to take the bet or was it all just bluster on your part?
