What were the moral implications of this event?
Could you suggest events in current events about human rights?
I take it this is, once again, for your goofy ethics instructor. The only relevant implication is that it is morally indefensible to eliminate people for reasons of political expedience.
That they can be, and oftenly are, altogether ignored.
Maybe also that they are more like a goal, and not actually enforceable laws.
