Who knew there was a world of Internet bloggers out there calling themselves
"hyper-milers?" From Saskatoon to Arkansas, armed with his handle "Prius in Seattle", my husband culls information daily. Groundbreaking tips such as how overfilling your oil will lower your gas mileage. Idling at a stoplight and wasting even a drop of fuel is considered Prius-storic.
What are hyper-milers?
What does the word "handle" mean here? Is "Prius in Seattle" a user's guide or an automobile?
BTW, the author wrote this article in praise of Prius' energy-efficiency.
@Nancy88,
Prius ins Seattle is the handle or name of a blogger. Hyper means excessive. The guy in the story owns a toyota prius, it's a hybrid car, half gas/half electric. If you drive these cars in a very calculated manner, you can use very little gas. This article is saying that there are a group of toyota prius owner across N. America that are pushing the limits of gas conservation. They are competing in a friendly manner/comparing notes/offering helpful hints to each other to see who can get the most milage on a single tank of gas, all in the name of being very environmental conscience.
