I think "proving " should the misspelling of "providing". Am I on the right track?

Context:

"International commission of missing persons in Sarajevo is going to examine the remaining 1500 samples from Tsunami victims in Tailand. The Chinese laboratory that was orginally given the task has failed claiming bad sample quality. Other counties including Sweden have been helping out, but the progress was slow. It is believed that the samples are of sufficient quality that all bodies could be identified proving you have DNA to compare...."

You are correct.

The rest of the text is of rather poor quality too, probably not written by a native speaker.
