Which one is correct?

1) If you're good at French, please give me the hand.
2) If you're good at French, please give me a hand.

I think both sentences are correct. Am I on the right track?

To "give a hand" is the correct choice, it's a well worn phrase. Give the hand is not common usage. "Give the finger" means something else entirely.

No, it's not.

"Give a hand" is common usage, also "lend a hand".

"Give the finger to" is a reference to an obscene gesture. (And not helpful in these circumstances.)
