Your question is probably rhetorical, but there's more than one answer to that riddle:

- On the Internet, one is not accountable for one's statements.
- Just about every idiot has access.
- Some people have too much time on their hands.
- There is a limited number of people to bullshyt with that we meet face-to-face on a daily basis. Internet forums increase that number greatly.

Of course, none of this applies to the folks in the Riddles forum. Wink

I don't believe it! On the day the Hamster passed on, and without the miracle of electricity his little wheel produced - no puter startup. Crying or Very sad

It would appear I have missed all the fun. However, I reckon I have the problem licked by using this Sloth instead.

There are drawbacks though like: I have to type much s l o w e r. So, to ensure you don't get to the end of the sentence before I finish, please read slower too!

Due to Adrian having to type everything ?'upsidenwod' I am sure he meant to say,

"Try, I bow to your nautical knowledge"

However if I am mistaken, (and in truth, it has been known) I will inform The Admiralty of the new ?'Boats of the Line' Shocked

"Some guys back before WWI might disagree" Yes, yes we do. " but it is so." So it is, but, but nothing. It is as you say. Cool Damn that Capt. Cook.

Mark on the other hand asks, "Where's Try?"
Try, try and try again watching them Cook decedents get whooped at rugby - again. Oh what joy life brings. Razz

Frank, back from the ?'brink' asks:
"Why is there so much bullshyt in Internet forums?"

Frank answered his own question when he said, "But the sidewalk that blocked my fall the other night was more than enough sidewalk for me, thank you.

I have never seen a shiner like the one I have. It looks like I was fed through a meat grinder.

I am beginning to have suspicions about the "aid" Blatham administered while I was down and out. He claims he was slapping me to try to get me to regain consciousness...but I am beginning to suspect he was using a closed fist!"

Frank, when word got out, we all came along to administer the ?'last rites' because it is said:

"Frank is the only militant agnostic I've ever met. Kind of reminds me of the fundamentalist Christian who will literally die for his/her beliefs." Shocked

Good to see you had second thoughts, and decided to stay on awhile. Very Happy

They were the only set of questions that defied the logic of Mark the Magnificent, as I understand he now wishes to be known.

Ok Whim, listen up; this is the deal, right. I give you the answers, and you tell me why. I do so only because your eye for detail and quest for the unknown is most praiseworthy. Oh! And ten bucks.

Using cosmic logic and reasoning, what is the next number in this sequence?
1 - 4 - 7 - 11 - (Then any number...that?)

By amazing coincidence, the following words link the numbers. What is the next word?
HAT - FISH - HEAVEN - ELEVEN - (Or any word that…?)

Now, using reverse cosmic reasoning:
5 - 9 - 10 - 15 - (Then any number...that?)

Mark with the eye of a Fish Eagle, "Hey! FISH snuck back in. Isn't that supposed to be LIFE?" Shocked

Dang right. I have the saved document and it says, ?'LIFE' LIFE is what it reads. I would ask, where does the fish come from, but I don't want to give Merlin the opportunity to run through his comedy routine again.

Woops, too late.

Ok Whim, just for you:

Using cosmic logic and reasoning, what is the next number in this sequence?
1 - 4 - 7 - 11 - (Numbers made from straight lines)

By amazing coincidence, the following words link the numbers. What is the next word?
HAT - LIFE - HEAVEN - ELEVEN - (Words made with straight lines)

?'Which was the reason, ?'FISH' was ?'out of the water'.

Now, using reverse cosmic reasoning:
5 - 9 - 10 - 15 - (Rounded numbers which when spelt out in ?''Caps'. FIVE, NINE etc use, yes you guessed it, use straight letters)

Let us never speak of it again.

"I noticed the straight lines in the words. I was trying to relate the numbers to vertical, horizontal, and/or diagonal lines."

You raise a very good point. How, when compiling a problem, do you judge the level of difficulty?

What is the scale? Can the originator be in a position to judge? The Math questions can be quite accurately judged, as they for the most part have unique answers. Whereas many Riddles could be interpreted in a number of ways. I think the ?'problem' with the question was, the lack of numbers in the sequence on which to base an answer.

"By you, or by us?"

Another good question. The questions are ?'easy' to produce. However, experience has shown it is also good to have an answer to hand. Laughing

Merlin observes, "Mark's toying with us; he could do these in his sleep."

Whilst I do agree with you, he has yet to find a way of replying whilst still asleep. Laughing
