Half of 5 = 3
so 5 = 6.
that makes 10 = 12

one third of 12 = 4
so 1/3 of 10 = 4

As you have already figured out, the four digits of the code must be the same. The sum and the product aren't enough to determine the order of the digits unless the digits are all the same.

To satisfy the ambiguity requirement, the product of the digits must be achievable in more than one way. This rules out 9999, 8888, 7777, 5555, and 1111. The other possibilities have at least one other way of equaling the product:
6^4 = 4*6*6*9
4^4 = 2*4*4*8
3^4 = 1*3*3*9
2^4 = 1*2*2*4

Now, look at the squares of the products. They have to yield a seven-digit number that starts with a 1, 3, 5, or 7.

6^8 = 1679616
4^8 = 65536
3^8 = 6561
2^8 = 256

It appears as though the 'leading odd digit less than nine' requirement is unnecessary. After eliminating the unambiguous possibilities, there is only one code left that yields a seven-digit square.
