To satisfy the ambiguity requirement, the product of the digits must be achievable in more than one way. This rules out 9999, 8888, 7777, 5555, and 1111.
Good point, since the product is clearly already known to Eliot. I totally forgot to take that into account.

Mark:

DREW
(6666) 167-9616 Cool Cool Cool Cool (Great answer)

6666. Eliot could only figure out the code from the information that Drew says is sufficient if all the digits in that number are the same; otherwise, he could not know in what order the digits occur. Furthermore, since he cannot determine the number from her first statement about it, the product cannot be unique and so the number cannot be 1111, 5555, 7777, 8888, or 9999. Of the remaining possibilities only 6666 meets the requirement that the first digit of the square of the product of its digits should be odd: 6x6x6x6 = 1296, squared = 1679616.

You must enter a specific five-letter word.

"ANALOGY " Shocked

However, the first two letters are correct! Razz

Something a litter easier: Make a monkey outta me Twisted Evil

Hanging over a pulley there is a rope with a weight at one end; at the other end clings a monkey of equal weight. The rope weighs 4 ounces per foot. The sum of the ages of the monkey and its mother is eight years, and the weight of the monkey is as many pounds as its mother is years old. The mother is twice as old as the monkey was when the mother was half as old as the monkey will be when the monkey is three times as old as its mother was when she was three times as old as the monkey was.

The weight of the rope and weight is half again as much as the difference between the weight of the weight and the weight plus the weight of the monkey.

How long is the rope Question

A new 8 x 8 puzzle.

RULES:

Use 0-9

Each number MUST have its digits in consecutive INCREASING order, both across and down. With 0 being allowed to follow 9.

EG. 901, 890123, etc. Of course, a number may NOT begin with a 0.

A digit may be used only ONCE each line.

The _ represents a space for a digit.

The * represents a block. (Just like a crossword)

_ _ _ _ * _ _ _
_ _ * _ * _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ * _
* * _ _ * _ _ _
_ _ _ *_ _ * *
_ * _ _ _ _ _ _
