she should arrange the beads in each jar so they're all green at the top, then pick any bead from the top of the jar. but if he's allowed to stir the beads, nothing she does will make her chances better than 50-50.

if the jars can be shaken, they're not packed to the rim. therefore, she can take enough of the green beads and put them into the jar with red beads so that she can tell by touch which jar has more beads, then pick one from the jar with fewer beads.
