The face of terror

Reply Sat 20 Dec, 2003 01:34 pm
I have seen people frightened over the years, scared to death by dogs, shadows, snakes, death, war, pestilence, famine, and so on. Always they have worn the fright mask, some more so than others. Some people are fairly well at keeping their facial features under control when frightened. But some become completely unglued and their face is an explosion of emotion.

Why do I bring this up, you ask? Because I have seen the face of terror, the personification of the contorted face of fear. I ask you to examine the accompanying photo. Pay close attention to the gentleman in the lower right corner. And then tell me, honestly, if you have ever seen a more frightened individual in your life.

I think you'll agree with me.

Gus- Yeah, he looks scared, but it's all in the interpretation. I think that the sea monster is kinda cute. Looking at that picture I have a burning desire to run to the super market and pick up some dog food for him..............................lots and lots of dog food! Very Happy

How can you make light of this situation, Phoenix? Look at those poor people! A lot of those people are going to die. I'm sick just thinking about it.

The poor bastards.

Gus- If you go to the sea with a rod and reel and some bait, you should expect to catch fish!

Hey, that's a pretty deep thought! Laughing

OH NO ! ! !
There goes Tokoyo
Go, Go Godzilla ! ! !

Personally, i'm sick of the smear campaign against otherwise unoffending monsters, goaded beyond patience, and then slaughtered cavalierly.

i don't really think any of the people look that scared :-/...

also, death isnt especially a frightening thing in my opinion so i don't really think any of them should be that terrified anyway.

sorry, it just doesn't seem all that bad.

20,000 leagues? I've never understood this, how can you have "twenty thousand leagues beneath the sea" ( jules verne)

The unit of distance "league" is 3 miles, therefore 20,000 leagues would be 60,000 miles.

Since the earth is only about 26,000 in circumference, wouldn't this mean that 20,000 leagues beneath the sea, would actually be many thousands of miles into outer space?????

Or, 20,000 Leagues is a lot of baseball players. Somebody would have missed them surely.
