We use "featuring" to highlight or draw attention to the inclusion of one item or person in a number of things or people. By itself, applied to people, the word carries no implication of leadership. You could substitute "including" with no loss of meaning.

A vacation in Europe featuring a visit to Paris, a tour of Rome and a trip to Madrid.

I should add that "featuring" is slightly stronger than "including" - it carries a suggestion that the mentioned thing or person is especially important, interesting or significant.
