I own a writing business that includes penning books and travel articles, building and maintaining two websites, and traveling for several weeks or months each year.

What is the meaning of "penning books"? Does it means "writing book reviews"?

@Nancy88,
No, it means writing books. Before the typewriter became common, people would write books by using a pen and paper. The expression "to pen something" just means to write it.

". . . that includes penning books and travel articles . . ." = " . . . that includes writing books and travel articles . . ."
