I just finished watching "Once". The film touches a some very familiar notes. Beautifully conceived and great song writing. One of the few films that tries to accurately show the struggle that artists go through to get recognized.

I will be picking up on and remarking about some of the movie themes in my blog here on a2k. Sadly, in reality, the struggle for recognition goes way beyond making a demo and a trip to London... The movie omits some but does seem to cover the well trodden ground that most are unaware of. It also has its genuine feel good qualities.

Thanks CalamityJane, this movie is certainly a gem, I feel enriched to have watched and enjoyed it. Smile

I am not that big on vampires but I don't mind werewolf stories.

I love old (and new) Sherlock Holmes episodes and just about any kind of detective shows like Columbo and Murder She Wrote. etc...

A good "who done it" is always fun to speculate on the characters and clues while building your own hypothesis. Smile

@RexRed,
"Rudy" is an inspirational movie that tells the true biographical story of Rudy Ruettiger, a blue collar factory worker of modest talent who refused to surrender his unrealistic collegiate and athletic aspirations, despite being told by virtually everyone that he would fail. His perseverance eventually pays off in ways that even he couldn't have imagined. By the end of movie, viewers feel emboldened to pursue their own dreams. The climactic scenes are tear-inducing. It's my favorite feel-good movie by far.
