@djjd62,
I firmly believed he would get probation. Amazing.

You can bet that it will be one without fences so they can go to town whenever they want to get away.

I'm voting for Guantanamo - that truly would be justice. Those guys need some new meat.

From PDiddie's blog:

DeLay pleaded for himself before visiting District Judge Pat Priest.

"I don't feel remorseful for something I don't think I did," DeLay told the judge.

Yes, he'll bond out on appeal and his chances are much better with the Republicans at that level, but today goes down as a good day for justice.

@BillW,

How are you feeling these days, Edgar?

I haven't crossed paths with Bill in a long time. We had an A2K gathering he made some years ago and ate Mexican food outside at some place that reminded me of La Villita in San Antone (a little running body of water at the bottom of a little rock stage and theater seating up the bank).

@BillW,
It was suggested I attend. Truthfully, I had not the funds to get me through such an outing.

@edgarblythe,
Yes, I had the same problem with the next outing - the one in which c.i. showed. And, after that I disappeared from A2K for many years.

@djjd62,
Jesus, that just made him a prime candidate for the office of president! Can he be out in time for the next song and dance routine?

HOUSTON -– A Texas Court of Appeals in Austin has overturned the conviction of former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, attorney Brian Wice tells KHOU 11 News.

In documents released early Thursday, the court said the evidence in the case was "legally insufficient to sustain DeLay’s convictions."

The court said all judgments against DeLay were reversed, and the former congressman was formally acquitted.

DeLay was sentenced to three years in prison, but stayed a free man while his case made its way through the appellate process.

At least DeLay had his grip on power broken. That was enough for me.

@edgarblythe,
It's hard to feel like we're winning "the battle for truth and justice the American way."

It was only an appeals court. The state could still appeal the ruling to the state supreme court.
