Discussion of 2010 Fiscal Commission Proposal to Reduce Debt / Deficit

The future will be painful for all of us. I guess we're done then. Don't feel you need to respond any further to my posts, cyclo, I'm sure I'll survive the snub.

Hah! You won't get off that easy. I can't abide when people post things in the name of ideology that they clearly haven't put much, if any, thought into. I submit that the majority of those who support Ryan's 'plan' are in the exact same boat as you in that regard; and I'll continue to point it out every time I see something written that either isn't true or isn't logically sound.

It's how I would expect to be treated.

As for the future, I suspect it will be far friendlier to my point of view than yours. If the last 30 years are any indication, it most certainly will; because the cause of progressive politics has been marching merrily along, so much so that the Republican side is starting to internalize it.

Do you not think we need to rein in massive deficits?

Er... how on Earth could you draw that conclusion from what I said?

What I said is that each time we find ourselves in a perceived crisis, the folks in charge generally seek to use the panic for their own ideological advantage.
