Does the title mean "there many things that recent advances in genomics have concealed, excep the only thing that is revealed?
Context:
ScienceDaily (Oct. 29, 2010) — If there is one thing that recent advances in genomics have revealed, it is that our genes are interrelated, "chattering" to each other across separate chromosomes and vast stretches of DNA. According to researchers at The Wistar Institute, many of these complex associations may be explained in part by the three-dimensional structure of the entire genome.
No, this is a stock phrase. I might say, for example: "If there's one thing i know, it's that you can't trust Bill." I am not saying that i only know one thing--i'm emphasizing that Bill cannot be trusted. This stock phrase is used as an intensifier. So, by writing If there is one thing that recent advances in genomics have revealed, it is that our genes are interrelated, "chattering" to each other across separate chromosomes and vast stretches of DNA., the author seeks to emphasize that that genomic studies have revealed that genes are interrelated.
