When I use any earbuds with my mp3 player, I get blinding headaches within 1/2 hr. The volume is low and the EQ is set flat. If I use a regular headset I have no problem at all, and can listen for hours at any volume. I've actually dozed off snoring while listening to the 1812 Overture. Why would the buds cause this problem?

@GregMS,
The ear buds could also be pressing on your ear canal in such a way that it is cutting off circulation or causing muscle spasms.
