OK, I know I've been awol from my own discussion, sorry couldn't be helped.
Here is a web site that documents all or at least most of the larger Canadian tourist attractions.
I was shocked, I knew we had a penchant for big, by god, this is...well, weird. So have a gander, tell me what your favourites are.

This is the home of the last German Emperor, the Hohenzollern Castle. You'll see it when you travel from Stuttgart going south, towards our little city of Balingen. Neat little residence...

Well, when Frederick III, Count von Zollern became about 1200 Frederick I, Burgrave of Nuremberg, a new Zollern-line was born.

John Cicero von Hohenzollern became (about 1505, I think) elector of Brandenburg and thus instituted the Prussian line of the Hohenzollern.

During all these years, there have always been Hohenzollern counts (later princes) at their original castle.

The 'home' of Wilhelm II (aka Frederick Wilhelm Viktor Albert of Hohenzollern) was born in Berlin and lived there, until he had to abdict in 1918. He then went in exile in Holland (Huis Doorn, Doorn), where he died in 1941.

So, sorry, bigdice, a nice castle, but one of the catholic Hohenzollerns!

Well, it's been a long time since I could claim Long Island as my home, but I think The Big Duck is worthy of inclusion here. And look--The Big Duck is all decked out for the holiday!

Does Europe prescribe to the 'big' phenomenon?
So far the tackiest large things seem to be in OZ, Canada and the US. Why, I wonder are we so enomored with these big attractions?
