Just hours after my daughter was born, a post-operative patient was escorted by a nurse into my room because she was determined to meet me. "Your baby!" she said, "Your baby! I rapped on the window with my rings (she held up her jewelry laden hand) and your baby looked around. I did it again and she looked around again."

The woman turned to go while the nurse chuckled inwardly and gave me a knowing look. Then, the woman stopped and turned toward me again. "She'll be the yenta of the neighborhood!"

That baby stood at five months, walked at nine and was speaking in four word sentences at 13 months. Today, she speaks six languages and can play eight instruments.

Anybody who has kids will tell you kids are born with personalities. They can of course be changed by the environment which they must face in life.

@north,
Very complex, because children born from the same parents turn out so differently. Even then their environment is different from the other siblings, because they have one more or less sibling during their growth years. Not only that but the parent's economic situation could change dramatically which impacts their environment in many ways at different times in their lives.

@cicerone imposter,
Genetic pools are far more extent then the active visible genes that the parents have...that´s why, they, the kids, some times turn out so different from the moment they were born...of course with environment they change even further.

Although family´s have a preferential "genotype" they probably also have in a smaller amount, (statistics on sperm and eggs variety ) as plane B, some diverse sideline possibility´s...for purposes of adaptation, if conditions change in the future, thus preventing to an extent, extinction... in layman terms "the black sheep" in the family makes proof of this...

@Fil Albuquerque,
I believe most of us understand that fact; after all, we are the product of all of our ancestors, and that would include all the positive and negative gene impact on us that we have no control over.

@Fil Albuquerque,
Only one comment on your revision; I am the "black sheep" in our family.
1. I never did well in grade school.
2. All my siblings are christians married to christians. I'm an atheist married to a buddhist.
3. All my siblings pray for me, and still try to convert me.

Description of a black sheep.

@cicerone imposter,
Great, that means you are to them, whether they acknowledge it or not, a living proof of diversity !
