Small town America in Photographs - post Depression (1939-1943)

I like this one -



I did react a little negatively to the color intensity in the color reproductions..

It may be the depression, but notice how well dressed everyone is?

I liked the girls in the homemade dresses at the fair..

Yeah - I was thinking that Mom must have gotten a good deal on a bolt of fabric.

I like this little guy- it's hard to believe he'd be nigh on eighty years old now:



and the school picture. Notice how some of the kids had shoes and others didn't.

Notice how all the ads are on building and not on their shirts. I was thinking the same thing about the dresses. Mom must have got a good deal on fabric.
