Harrumph! Jack Skeleton is not Christmas Mush!

But what exactly is it, then, tsar? Razz

@msolga,
A tale most wonderful and charming. It could be considered Halloween mush I suppose. Wink

@tsarstepan,
Halloween?
Oh well, that's different!
It's probably a masterwork of the genre, then. Wink

Tsar, there never a good time to listen to Christmas music or watch Christmas related films. They were created by sadists to torture us all.

I might chime in here, especially if one works in such a store that overplays such stuff. Shocked Mad

But in answer to your original question, tsar ... yes it is too early. Way too early. What are you thinking, suggesting such things? Think of Santa sweltering away in his beard & costume in your heat! Think of the heat stressed reindeer! And as for Christmas carols in the department stores for FOUR WHOLE MONTHS! ... are you crazy? Surprised Razz

Re the Topic Question: yes, it is always too early.

On the other hand, I do like the family and friend events around christmas.

I would tolerate Christmas music anytime between December 11 and December 31 (a good three weeks). Anything outside this window is excessive. Seeing Christmas themed crap go up before Halloween drives me crazy.

@Intrepid,
Really, no #2, Intrepid?

You celebrated Christmas 365 days a year & you're watching Miracle on 34th Street right now?

Surprised

You are so full of surprises sometimes! I'd never have guessed! Smile

@msolga,
I wasn't watching it until I saw this thread. I couldn't have answered truthfully if I didn't put it on. It is one of the many Christmas movies that I own.

Also, Christmas music is some of the most soothing music there is. Plus, I actually put Christ in Christmas. Smile

@Intrepid,
Ah then.
I'm not going to argue with stuff like that.

But ... know what? You're a spoil sport, going all serious on us like that! Wink

@msolga,
I fondly remember listening to Christmas in Killarney with my parents and grandparents on 78 records when I was a boy. It was sung by Bing Crosby.

The holly green, the ivy green
The prettiest picture you've ever seen
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at home

It's nice, you know, to kiss your beau
While cuddling under the mistletoe
And Santa Claus you know, of course
Is one of the boys from home

The door is always open
The neighbors pay a call
And Father John before he's gone
Will bless the house and all

How grand it feels to click your heels
And join in the fun of the jigs and reels
I'm handing you no blarney
The likes you've never known
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at home

@Intrepid,
Odd, I was going to post about my parents' Bing Crosby album earlier. I forget now if it was an actual album with sleeves for each 78...

@ossobuco,
That was the usual thing. A book that looked like a photo album with paper sleeves for the 78 records.

anytime after Thanksgiving is OK, but I am not interested until around Dec 7. I Usually also watch Miracle on 34th street (1947 version and I prefer not colorized please) and Its a wonderful life (again not colorized) during those two weeks.
