Science [at least in theory] is the muscle and skeleton in the genre of science fiction films. What science fiction films really bother you because their abuse ... um ... use of science and scientific theory is so absurdly and poorly utilized? What films succeed in depicting science and scientists in relatively accurate fashion? Does this issue actually bother you when you watch the genre of science fiction?

Below is a great podcast and primer about the discussion of the proper and accurate usage of science in science fiction films. They discuss the need to depict science in accurate terms while the filmmaker needs to make compromises in order to tell her or his story in entertaining and watchable fashion.

@tsarstepan,
I wish there was a larger selection of sci-fi films that had a bit more depth to their fiction foundation. I understand the there has to be some "fiction" in science fiction, but there should also be some Science. Too many things border on Fantasy with scientific sounding terminology.

Here's a fun article from The Onion which gives a good example: http://www.theonion.com/content/news/sci_fi_writer_attributes
