I enjoy the taste of humis, but what is it good for besides dipping?

What other ways have you eaten humis? It doesn't seem to hold it's own in a sandwich and is kinda sloppy. Perhaps it could be a base for a more robust, interesting spread?

Do you cook with it?

I like it smeared on celery but I suppose that's really just another way of using it as a dip.

@jespah,
That was the thought in my head as I was writing the details!

Anything else you add? Chopped egg or celery or relish? Or is it good just as it is? I wanna try it TODAY.

Now that's a GREAT idea, because I like tuna, but hate mayo! Thanks!!

I haven't added anything but the usual sprouts, lettuce, tomato, whatever on the bread. It's the red pepper kind (er, I should tell you, Region Philbis and I eat many of the same things, seeing as we're married 'n stuff).

@Region Philbis,
Yes, but do you ever use it for anything other than dipping, or as an appetizer? Do you have any ways of main-mealing it?

@ehBeth,
Avocado hummis sounds GREAT. I'm partial to the kalamata olive.

@jespah,
Perhaps he's not overly fond of your hummus/tuna combo?

I'm going to try it, I just needed to know if you added anything to make it "salad".

@ibstubro,
can you tangy dill relish where you are?

mixing that into the tuna - along with the hummus - would work

or spreading the hummus on the bread under the tuna mixed with dill relish would work

@ehBeth,
I'll look for tangy dill relish. Sounds like we could put that on the bread, them the hummus/tuna mix?
