I read once that humans are a territorial animal, meaning, we fight over territory. We evolved to have a boundless imagination. And we created, in that imagination, religion. That gave us an infinite territory over which to fight. Combined with actual land to fight over, we have an endless source of war.

My biggest dislike of religion is the tithing, that really eats into my beer/whisky money not to mention my reefer fund.

That they must save lives to god, while their own lives goes down the sewer. Religion equals morals has never been proven; most of us see the opposite to be true.

After I got over my agitated dismissal years, crying in anger when I went into Guadalupe in Mexico city, for example, I got back to liking churches, or some churches. I'm picky, of course. Even in my dismissive days, I probably still liked gregorian chant.
I'm still tough on some saints, especially recently promoted ones, not to exclude the backlog.
