Do you believe all religions are truly one and the same?

Free to live - at last! Free from that slavery to self - no longer self
defending its rights, but self hid with Christ in God. (Whenever you
lose your life for His sake, you will save it.) In fact, when you at last
lose yourself in God, you find you are at last free to be yourself.

"When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him."
Acts 7:54 (NIV)

I leave you unhampered to dig your spiritual graves in the darkness that you so desire.

ANY COMMENTS WILL HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED AMONG YOURSELFS.

Maybe you'll find a sucker who will buy your snake oil somewhere else.

Just came back to clean out my stuff and saw your post.

The snake oil was free for the taking. Sorry you didn't want any as it
is for snakes. Was that your father in the Garden of Eden that tempted
Eve? Must have been cause he was in the form of a snake and didn't
like snake oil either. None of his spiritual children do either whatever
form they are in. People, demons, whatever.

The Lord and me are still going to love you no matter what. I am free
to do that.

Wilso, I think you need to put your hat on before you cook your brain anymore. Don't you know there is a hole in the ozone over your head? I know another guy with an Angelican background and he's got a bad taste in his mouth also. Like you, he is as mean as a snake trying to shed its skin. Maybe you would feel better if you rubbed on some of that snake oil Frank is refering to. At least take care of the baby so it don't get a cooked brain also. Just came back to clean up stuff and saw your post. You hang
on down there now, you hear.

The Lord and me are going to love you no matter what. I am free to do that.

Having been a chronic alcoholic myself and completely delivered with
now with 27 years of continious sobriety and no compulsion ever to
drink again. I thank God for sending me some tough love through somebody that cared enough to give me some. That was the only
thing that would have saved me. Know about tough love?

The baby in the photo has never been in a church in her life, and with neither of her parents being believers, it's unlikely she ever will. Does this mean she's going to hell?

Take a drink, Z, you really need one!

Take two!

You may suppose your problem was alcoholism, but from the sounds of things, there is a lot more going on than just a problem with the sauce.

In any case, even without that idiot god of yours, I love ya. You are a fellow human being -- and I hope you finally work through this new problem that has replace the old one.

Nevertheless, Z, congratulations on your victory over the addiction. It is QUITE an accomplishment. I know too many who have failed and died for it.

Just out of interest, what has any of this got to do with all religions being one and the same (or not?)

Z, it's great that you're sure you've found God. Frank, Wilso, you think there's no God and you're sticking to it - fab. But could we all lighten up and accept each others views, even if we're not going to change? I don't know who's right, but that's why I admire you - I don't know where I'm going or what I think! I think there is a God, but after that I'm scuppered.

Can we get back to the subject? Can all religions be the same? It seems an odd idea, when there are so many different principals and beliefs.

Seeker, have you read all the posts earlier in this thread? The recent exchange between the extremes is only a ripple on the pond.

You've got me mixed up with someone else.

At no point have I said there is no God -- or that I think there is no God.

I'm an agnostic.[/quote]

Seeker,

You are correct in calling for attention to the central issue which logically does not necessarily entail the existence or otherwise of "God". except for those who equate the essence of "same" with "same God". From my atheistic position I see "sameness" or "difference" of "religions" to be a political/sociological statement subject to the whims of history. It is ironic, for example, that one of the main bastions of Zionism are American fundamentalist Christians who have a vested interest in the fulfiment of the prophetic details of the "second coming of Jesus". Compare that position with the pogroms against Jews by the Crusaders in the middle ages.
