@brad mckerracher,
He didn't HAVE to beat Stalin or Russia. The commie system was coming apart at the seams in 37 and would have fallen apart in another five or ten years, he could have just waited and picked up the pieces. The country he had to prevail over to win was England.

Then, he 'd have had access to strategically imperative oil reserves

@brad mckerracher,
Lot of books written on the subject and I would refer you to some of Turtledove books.

The Painter would have been alot stronger, specially with the oil from Kaukasus (spelling?), just that it's very likely that he would have messed up later, as he did just as the army was about to invade Moscow.

Jesus Christ, here we go again. Hitler could not possibly have accomplished that goal because of the many stupid things he did just before and as he invaded the Soviet Union--not the least of which was his hubristic and surreal belief that he could conquer the country in six months, and therefore did not need to provide for his armies in the wintertime.

Historical "what-ifs" are only worth discussing if there is actually a plausible basis for believing they might have been. Hitler was a military idiot who destroyed millions of Germans through his arrogance and incompetence. From the first days of his invasion in the summer of 1941, there was never any probability that he could defeat the Soviet Union.
