Importing Custom Inflatable Product

I am interested in having a custom inflatable product manufactured in China to be exported to Canada. It would be similar to a childrens pool. I have a number of questions:

1) How do I get a prototype made?
2) What costs are accosicated with having a prototype manufactured?
3) How do I identify reliable suppliers?

Any advice would be appreciated.
