You don't understand. Most of findings Stephen Hawking has made have come after being stricken with Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Just a quick comment. I don't know what country you are from, but you might want to check on the rules for eponyms. Here in the United States, we tend to drop the possessive form of a medical eponym such as Lou Gehrig's when followed by a noun. So it would be ...after suffering from Lou Gehrig disease. If the noun were dropped, it would be ...after suffering from Lou Gehrig's. Of course, there are always exceptions. Wink

Also - the word "disease" would not be capitalized in your sentence. Just the eponym.
