Discovered this painting online when Twitter recommended the Portuguese language blogger, Dputamadre.

Screen captured it so it's now my desktop wallpaper.

@tsarstepan,
That's wonderful, in a couple of ways. Well, in my opinion.

@ossobuco,
Well it's funny and cute in a (hopefully) ironic sense.

Brown spots for stigmata markings et al.

Two animated stills from one of the short stories in the the French horror anthology film Peur(s) du noit (2007) [Fear(s) of the Dark (English title)].

Simple works of art! Smile

@Roberta,
Yes, I think they're wonderfully vibrant paintings, too, Roberta.
The colour!
Love it.
I'd love to be able to see the real thing/s like you can!

@msolga,
I guess I missed seeing this. I used to be crazed re Franz Marc, well, the lot of german expressionist painters, see I still am.

I've a whole lot to add here (been going through my stuff) once I clear my desktop for scanning purposes. That will take time as I am tech lazy. After that, a blitz of posts.

Just a few of Picasso's doves.
I love the line drawings especially.
Had a poster of the first one on my wall for years, like everyone else. Smile :

I promised a year or two ago to scan a whole passel of cards/photos I've saved with animals depicted in art. I still have them in a pile waiting for me to scan and put them on photobucket. Meantime, I was reminded of that by this photo in the Guardian:

Six-year-old Riva Lemanski admires a giant rocking horse outside Christie's auction house, London, another compelling image by Dan Kitwood. The horse will go under the hammer in a sale of unusual objects on 5 September. Photograph: Dan Kitwood/Getty
