It seems unlikely. But what does "tainted" mean? Allergy-causing?

Something that is contaminated with something it shouldn't contain (like nuts, bacteria, radiation, etc). Usually this contamination will cause sickness.
Tainted gives me the impression that the contamination is lower.
Contaminated milk = badly affected
tainted milk = mildly affected
What does your dictionary say? It's an ordinary word.
