I don't know what to do!

I have two goldfish...I think they are male and female. The one chases the other around the tank. I have had them for three days and recently the water in the tank has started getting cloudy. I read that this means that the female has laid eggs. I haven't seen anything that looks like there could be eggs, but the one that I think is a female (its rounder and fatter) has recently been staying at the bottom of the tank and hasn't been swimming around much. There are bubbles underneath her and there are white strings hanging from her too. She also hasn't eaten in the past three days, since i got her. I don't know what this means or what to do. Please help!

It sounds like this is a new tank, I don't know what kind of filtration you have, or if it is just a goldfish bowl. At any rate, a new set-up will develop a biological balance over the course of a week or so, the water will become cloudy during one stage of this process, it will clear up. Goldfish produce high levels of ammonia, so it is important to perform partial water changes weekly.

hey. I also have a pregnant goldfish. She had the same "symptoms" as your ones. She was trown around around in the tank and couldnt swim properly. I took her out of the tank and gave her her own tank. She did lay her eggs afterwords, but now shes loosing her scales, I dont know what to do know...

Maybe your fish is also ready to lay her eggs. I have posted my question of what to do when shes loosing her scales , but no one seems to answer. Do you know anything about that???
