Quote:Israel Banuelos, 23, and more than 50 of his colleagues skipped work, with the grudging acceptance of his employer, an industrial paint plant in Hollister, Calif.
“We were supposed to work,” Mr. Banuelos said, “but we wanted to close down the company. Our boss didn’t like it money-wise.”
The boss did not want to continue to operate this plant, so he wanted to close down the company. Is it right? Or the employees wanted to close down the company?
@chai2,
So does it mean the boss did not close down the company for that particular day and that he did not like the idea money-wise?
No, the employees did not show up, so the plant was shut down.
