Lady Gaga has become the first living person to have more than 10 million fans on Facebook.
whats the reason of her popularity?
1- Singing Style
2- Dress
3- Voice
As is the case with all art and crafting of media, the reason people like things is not reducible to a singular element.

4 - It is beyond comprehension
I love Lady Gaga!
She is a character-- sexy, posh, unrestrained, a little otherworldly .... for me (and apparently millions of other people), this combination works.
The fact the music is catchy helps.

What he said.
She's a charismatic singer and writer of lively and catchy and dirty/funny pop songs. She's quite intelligent (surprisingly embraced by the public) and talented in the design department. She is quite a media mogul for the ages.
ebrown p - Now I know what's on your work-out playlist. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a few of her tracks on mine. I think she transcends guilty pleasure and lands firmly in the category of addiction.

I think my parents wondered the same thing about The Beatles...the night we watched them on Ed Sullivan.
The wheel keeps turnin'
she's an attention whore and a good marketer, exactly what it takes to make someone a star
i had to laugh when she fell off her ridiculous 12 inch platform shoes the other day, while walking through an airport, unfortunately she wasn't standing at the top of an escalator at the time
like madonna before she'll eventually go away
@djjd62,
... if only I were a good marketer.
Jerry Seinfeld on her:
Lady Gaga on June 10, when the singer was escorted to his empty luxury box at Citi Field without his permission after she was caught on camera in the stands at a New York Mets game giving the finger to photographers and fans. "This woman is a jerk. I hate her," Seinfeld joked. "I can't believe they put her in my box, which I paid for ... You give people the finger and you get upgraded? Is that the world we're living in now? It's pathetic. And why is she giving the finger? How old is the finger? How'd it even get to be the finger? Somewhere along the line somebody decided this is the bad finger."
Seinfeld also said of Lady Gaga, "You take one 'A' off of that and you've got gag."
And he was just getting started. "I don't know what these young people think or how they promote their careers," Seinfeld said. "I'm older, you know, I'm 56. I look at Lady Gaga the way Keith Hernandez watches these kids when they pull the pocket out, they wear the inside-out pocket. ... Do you think he could understand that? He can't understand that. That's a new game, that's kids."
Later in the interview, it was pointed out that Lady Gaga created a stir by inviting herself into the New York Yankees' clubhouse last Friday night. "Oh please," Seinfeld said. "Wake me when it's over. Get an act. Rhinestone bikinis and giving people the finger."
"She is talented," he added. "I don't know why she's doing this stuff."
@edgarblythe,
I liked how
Seinfeld reacted to this whole
Lady Gaga/attention getting debacle.
He's not completely dismissive of her talent but he still questions her oft obnoxious attitude with the media.
pop culture is not my forte, who is lady gaga? I'm aware of Jerry Seinfeld although I can't say I care much for his humour. I like Steven Wright alot.
@GoshisDead,
Fair assessment. I also believe that
Lady Gaga admits to the obvious influence of
Madonna on her aesthetic and musical sensibilities.

Madonna 2.0
Exactly. She's hard working, puts out a great beat and does the costume thing to get attention. I heard of her costumes long before I ever heard any of her music, but it's not bad, very catchy and more in the lyrics than first meets the eye. Very much like an early Madonna, but what shocks us into paying attention has changed since Madonna was the material girl.
I think it's a combination of things, but the feature that most stands out about Lady Gaga is decidedly her fashion. There are a million "pretty" blondes running around singing and rocking it out. She clearly realized that she need a distinctive feature that would make her stand out from the crowd. Good for her!
