Yesterday was a day to remember. The Pres. of South Korea walked over the border to North Korea with his wife and others, we may be facing one day a united Korea, then a united Asia/Russia. Any thoughts?

@tvsej,
I like it. Koreans belong together. Moreover, once they reconcile and actually sign a treaty, US troops will have no reason to languish over there.

Russia won't join with the Asians though, they're more of an EU contender given their ties to Germany and the former Eastern Bloc.

Yes, that is true but Germany is the driving force in uniting Russia and Asia.

Only because Germany enjoys its place as the EU's main power (UK involvement is minimal, and the French economy can't compete). Russian natural gas is primarily exported to Germany and Scandinavia, and thus is a major player in European affairs. You've also seen Putin (and soon Zubkov) Westernizing their country, and forging strong ties to the democracies of the West in lieu of the dictatorships of Asia. Russia may not outright JOIN the EU, but they'll become a major European player.

That day is long and far away in my opinion. But hope is a well which has deep waters. You look at the subject nicly.

Yes, I believe Germany does enjoy their place as main power of the EU and I think they handle it well.
UK can't be more involved because they are not full memebers exactly. As for France I honestly do not know much other than the new pres. Sarkozy has great future plans to the betterment of France and it's people. I hope he can get it done.

Thank you mlurp, I also think it is a long way off. Theory into practice, paper is patient.
