The whole point I'm trying to make is that I don't have to answer to you and your accusations because I am not Jewish, and my religion does not and has not followed those rules because we don't have to because we're Christian. If you want to throw out the whole book because you have a problem with a part of it that isn't even used anymore, go ahead.

you may not use it but by Christian standards the OT is still considered Canon, which means all that angy god stuff is the same god christians call "The Father", to disregard that is to do exactly what Italk about. Dinning "Buffet Style" from your religion

@socalgolfguy,
What don't people understand? Reagaknight is very clear - they are out to rid the world of Kafir = us! In their minds we are no better than pigs or stray dogs. Anyone that does not believe that runs the risk of suffering, the likes of which the world has never seen. I will always believe they are muslims first, americans second.

@socalgolfguy,
There are sects that def believe that but I think the counterpoint was that the majority of Muslims don't think that way

the problem with that is that a large portion of those Muslims, the "non radicals" still sympathize with them. The amount of Muslims do don't believe in violence and don't sympathize with those Muslims on any level is not large enough by any standards

1/4th of American Muslim youths recently polled said that suicide bombing "could" be justifiable

No, I am not an 'Israelite.' Look at my previous posts, God told Moses 'Tell the Israelites this: and 'These are the laws you are to set before them (the Israelites', not Christians as well.

@socalgolfguy,
that's not true either, and it's quite the myopic viewpoint

I've met Muslims who want radicals stopped for fear it would destroy their religion.

Think about it, no religious group could feel more threatened then rational Islam, to us Al Qaeda is a opposing problem. To them it's a theological cancer. The fact that I've met good Muslims within our military more then disproves your statement.

Oh I know what your saying I just don't agree

the Idea that a perfect and timeless being would set a separate standard of law for the Israelites, another separate standard for the Corinthians, and then now a more convenient set of laws for you in the modern age speaks against any notion that God is timeless and that there are definite standards for right and wrong...

@socalgolfguy,
you've basically boiled down your religion to the point where you're able to do away with any part of the Bible that doesn't suit you and since there's no gospel entitled "Americans" you're free to do what you think is right and then claim you're following Jesus's will and that you beliefs encompass Christianity

@socalgolfguy,
It is my belief that the "America First" muslims that immigrated here are in the minority. The "peaceful" muslims I know quietly admit that they are muslims first and americans second. Probe a few of the muslums you know personally a little deeper and you will be surprised how many will admit to that fact.

They do think that way, that is the only way a Muslim can think, and the only way they, at least the majority, has ever thought. Just look at their history of violence, most of their existence has been spent plotting to take over Europe and eventually the world. Look at the subjugated religions brought under their control: the dhimmis and the pagans and Hindus and Zoroastrians who were at times worse than dhimmis. By the way, look at the numbers of the Zoroastrians and Egyptian Copts today and compare it to before and shortly after the Muslims took over Egypt and Iran. Then take into consideration the horrible conditions they were under with Muslim rule. Coincidence or peaceful conversion? False friendship with the unbelievers is okay to benefit Islam, but real alliances and friendship is forbidden. Lies are also subject to such standards: do not lie among Muslims, but lie to Kafir to benefit Islam.

God is timeless, his requirements and works are not. The thing is that those rules don't apply to Christians today because they are not Israelites, just like circumcision is no longer required today for Christians. Because of their culture and time period, those suggestions were necessary for Corinthians, not today.

That's not true, I still follow the Ten Commandments, etc., it's just that there are some practices that were meant for people of that race at that time, not today's Christians.

You can disagree all you want, if you'd rather see people stoning children, I don't know what you're smoking, if not, I have no idea why you reject my argument so vehemently.

But why follow the 10 commandments and not follow the other 1st covenant laws? All the 10 commandments are is the first 10 rules God gave Israel. If you look in the Bible you will see that nowhere are the 10 commandments differentiated from the rest of the first covenant

And I don't disagree with your personal ethics code, I'm obviously not going to throw rocks at kids. I oppose you claiming your self made collection of ethics as being the sole true word of God as portrayed in the Bible.

Yes, there is a difference, if apparently minor, God just says the Ten Commandments, nothing else, but he adds the 'tell this to the Israelites' provision before the following part. I am not an ancient Israelite, so I do not have to follow that and other laws meant for them. God can surely speak only to specific groups if he wishes.

No, whenever God speaks in the Bible, that's his word, and when he doesn't, the Bible is inspired by him, though liable to make mistakes, but the thing is, it's sometimes his word to a different group than the one I am in.

As though there are no Muslims in PA. I don't mean, 'that's the only way Muslim people are capable of thinking', I mean, 'that's the only way a good Muslim can think.' I'm sure that many of the Muslims in the world, if not most, would like to be good Muslims, so they read the Koran and try to learn Arabic so they can understand it, and if they can, they'll read about killing unbelievers, etc., and take it literally because that's how it's supposed to be taken. And of course, there are many 'radical' Muslim leaders and they are well versed in the doctrines of jihad and dhimmitude and the ahadith and Koran, as well as the writings of Muslim scholars that encourage those, and they tell the masses what to believe.

@socalgolfguy,
Human beings can always make a choice..we are of course only as smart as the soft ware that upbringing and education and experience install in our brains...but under the right circumstances we all can choose not to be an a******
teaching people that there are choices to make outside of their religion is the first step....teaching them that human beings and the relative well being of each human being is more important thanb religion or culture is the first step

Azmr, sometimes I see the things you say and think to myself "this guy is a ***ing dickhead", sometimes not though. To bad most of the troglodytes here only have what the media tells them to help them apply Bushs "War on Terror" to a muslim face. I know quite a few muslims in the late 90s when I lived in Austin, they were model citizens.

It's a comfort knowing that your "bible party" will never amount to anything more than your little pipe dream.

I love how in one thread most of you point to Iraq succeeding, and we have to stay in Iraq to help the people (muslims) so they can defeat muslim extremist. In another, like this one, they (muslims) are all out to get us and they(muslims) are all the enemy. Holy schizophrenia batman. Get some ******* consistancy, and then your views might have a valid sense about them, till then it's all misguided, bordering on racist rambling.

How is it 'racist'? I saw a White college girl wandering around in skalding heat and suffocating humidity down here one afternoon in ARABIC garb, obviously begging for attention. Even though she was White, I still wanted to run her over as she crossed the parking lot......(play'n).
